Anne Bannister (she/her)

LEAD Storyteller

Anne is a photographer and filmmaker drawn to stories of human connection. A sixth-generation Kansan and Texan, she is inspired by the landscapes, communities, and distinct beauty of the two states she calls home. For more than a decade, her work has focused on telling stories that build empathy, deepen understanding, and invite people into collective action.

She began her career as a digital producer for Raise Your Hand Texas, where she reported on public education initiatives, captured stories from classrooms across Texas, and produced content for major statewide policy and advocacy efforts. In 2022, she stepped into creative leadership at the Charles Butt Foundation, where she oversaw narrative development, end-to-end video production, event experience elements, and multi-platform campaigns. Her work helped reframe how the teaching profession is understood — centering educators as skilled leaders and problem-solvers in their local communities. Across roles, her storytelling has been grounded in clarity, care, and trust.

Since 2016, Anne has also operated Anne Bannister Photography and Filmmaking, a creative practice that has taken her from weddings and portraits in Texas to documentary projects abroad. Most recently, she partnered with  Warm Heart Worldwide in Northern Thailand, on a multimedia project highlighting community-led solutions to poverty alleviation through education, public health, and environmental sustainability.

Beyond her professional work, Anne explores creativity through aerial acrobatics, oil painting, and wheel-thrown pottery. A devoted lover of the outdoors, and recharges by hiking Austin’s trails, tending her garden, or caring for her bees.
