Anne Bannister (she/her)

Anne is a photographer and filmmaker who specializes in stories of human connection. She is both a sixth-generation Kansan and Texan whose art is inspired by the unique beauty of the two states she loves. 

Anne is currently a director and video producer at the Charles Butt Foundation where she crafts stories that amplify the voices of Texas students, teachers, and school leaders. She has spent the last ten years in public education advocacy and philanthropy. During this time she has developed profiles showcasing remarkable educators as well as teaching and learning practices. Anne has also produced creative content for statewide policy and advocacy campaigns. 

In addition, Anne recently released a short-form documentary series in partnership with Warm Heart Worldwide, a non-profit committed to reducing poverty and fostering sustainable community development in Northern Thailand. 

Anne has been part of the Austin community for the past 14 years. She recharges by spending time outdoors with her partner, Karl, and dog, Juniper. A perpetual learner and creative, she can’t resist a new hobby. Her latest pursuits include oil painting, aerial acrobatics, and beekeeping.
